Toby Carvery - Moby Dick

Honestly wasn't expecting much as we have been to a few carvery restaurants that have been pretty poor but I have to say this was absolutely brilliant. It was very busy yet the food was all hot and fresh, there was a good selection of meats available including lamb which is super rare, pork, gammon, turkey and beef. Restaurant was super clean and tidy and staff are brilliant, accepting and non judgemental when it comes to neurodiversity in children. They were so welcoming and attentive, I can not fault here at all! For a Sunday treat we really enjoyed it, I will say however it did come to £52 for 2 adults and a child for a drink each and dinner, which I feel is a bit expensive in relation to a Toby 2 years ago (yes I know prices have gone up, but £14.99 per adult and £7.99 for a child under 5 is just silly) Oh and they didn't have any lactose free milk, so when I got my pot of tea I had to drink it without, should always have an alternative for people with intolerances and allergies.

Honestly, the best meal out we've ever had. Not only was all the food (roast for me, of course) delicious, as a severely disabled family, we were treated with dignity, care and inclusion by the wonderful James. James went above and beyond, seating us right in front of the carvery, away from the hubbub of the main restaurant area, and in a spacious little area just for us. We were able to push my eldest daugher's wheelchair under the table so that we could all eat together, and she was happy and comfortable the whole time we were there. It was a special time that I won't ever forget because it was the first time she's been able to cope with the atmosphere of a restaurant for the duration, and the first time she's eaten everything we ordered for her: both a whole children's meal AND a carefully constructed pudding with soft fresh fruits, dairy-free chocolate sauce and dairy-free custard! So not only did James care for us beautifully, he was a constant source if entertainment for my youngest daughter with his impressive juggling skills and warm and friendly demeaner. Please pass on my heartfelt gratitude to James, and please apologise to him for me for not having cash to tip him. We will be back and tip him twice!

Family pre Christmas get together. Christmas 3 course menu excellent value for money. Our server Dee was exceptional! Friendly, efficient and attentive. Host Neve and carver Lucy were friendly and polite. Totally enjoyable evening.
