Do book in advance. Perfect Buckinghamshire dining experience. Small busy kitchen, loads of wait staff. Had booked a table by the door, and watched as at least 10 parties were turned away - no booking and no tables for two hours. Doctor Who fans will appreciate the fish finger sandwich. Sarah in particular was a very dedicated and efficient server as she on boarded a new starter Food was excellent - I was hungry and enjoyed my Calamari followed by fish and chips - perfection

Food has gone downhill with the new owners but staff all very nice and helpful. This was the Napoli pizza, not particularly impressive given that the pizzas used to be amazing when owned by Oakman Inns. Will be back though, and hopefully able to give a better review.

We went to the Polecat on Easter Sunday eve. We were seated at the table right inside the door that was draughty, then we moved to another table that was by the door that goes out to the garden, that most people passing through left open, so one of us got up at least 6 times during our meal to close it! Then one of us ordered pizza only to be told that the pizza oven had been switched off for cleaning for a busy bank holiday Monday to come, 30 mins later after we ordered something else 2 pizzas went out to other customers!! They then told as the manager wasn’t doing anything else he thought he’d make pizzas? This team member that told us this (a middle aged man with glasses) thought it was kinda funny!! We did not. I ordered a £28 sirloin steak that was so tough and so tasteless it went back. The same member of staff said he removed it fe out bill as curtesy? It was inedible and tasteless. My chips were under cooked my nieces were overcooked! Steak & chip and fish and chips - HOW CAN YOU GET THIS WRONG?
