Toby Carvery - Norton Canes

I recently visited here for some food with the family for a Sunday carvery. Overall, it was a good experience. However, the portion size of the meat and the quality let itself down. It was not just the meat on my plate. It was all 7 of us that experienced this. In addition, I had an XL plate and asked for beef and lamb. I asked the server to cut a fresh piece of lamb, as the meat slice she was giving me contained cartlidge/ tendon (basically inedible) and she said no. We visited no long ago, and there wasn't an issue, so it could have been a one-off. But value for money vs. having little to no meat, I won't be returning if this happens again.

Food is always decent for the price you pay. We were able to take advantage of the "Kids eat for £1" over the holidays which is good value. Expect a wait for things to be replaced on the breakfast and the carvery during busy periods - this can be slightly frustrating as it increases the queue whilst people wait for items (understandably). They no longer acknowledge reservations for 4 people and under which isn't made clear online so just a heads up.

Breakfast was delightful. Never thought about putting a yorkie & gravy on but it works. Unfortunatley there were no eggs when we got there & only 4 sausages left. Couldn't see the chef. Will definatley be coming back soon!
